📋 5 questions to know if it's time to seek professional help

Before taking the next step, take a moment to listen to yourself

These questions are not a replacement for a consultation, but they can help you hear yourself better before deciding to seek help.

1. Do you feel your emotions overwhelm you more often than you'd like?

💬 People may have told you, or you've noticed it yourself. You might "get blind" with anger and later don't understand why you reacted that way, or you've gotten into trouble because of your temper.

2. Have you stopped doing things you used to enjoy?

💬 Things you used to like now feel like a chore, you don't see the point, or you simply don't feel like doing them. Like your battery is low for no reason.

3. Do you have trouble sleeping or wake up often during the night?

💬 Your head won't stop, you toss and turn, or you wake up more tired than when you went to bed. Sometimes even coffee or tea doesn't help.

4. Do you feel you have no one to talk to about what's going on?

💬 Even if there are people around, you keep things to yourself. Not out of pride, but because you feel they wouldn't understand or you don't want to burden them.

5. Does the discomfort you feel affect your daily life (work, studies, family)?

💬 Things you used to do without trouble now feel harder, they bore you quickly, or you end up fighting over little things. As if everything weighed twice as much.

📊 How many times did you answer YES?

If you answered YES to 3 or more questions, it might be a good time to consult a professional. You're not broken, you just need a space to talk.

📋 What do your answers mean? (gentle interpretation, not diagnostic)

"There are no bad scores. This is not an exam. But if you marked several YES, it might be a sign that your body and mind are asking for a pause. You're not broken, you just need space to sort things out."

If you marked... It might be an invitation to...
1-2 YES Observe how you feel in the coming days. No urgency, but attention.
3-4 YES Consider a conversation with a professional. Not serious, but preventive.
5 YES Make seeking help a kind priority. You're not broken, you're feeling.

💭 What now? Some steps to follow, without pressure

Where can I get help if I don't have resources?

You can search Google for the one closest to your district. You don't need to be in crisis to call or ask.

🫂 Signs you might be ready to take the next step (without scaring yourself)

You don't need to wait until you're "very bad." You can also go to better understand yourself.

💬 What to expect from a first conversation with a psychologist?

It's not an interrogation. They won't judge you. They'll ask what brings you there, how you've been sleeping, if something is worrying you. It's more like sorting out a puzzle than a confession. You don't need to be seriously ill to go. You can go with doubts, with curiosity, or with that lump in your throat you don't know how to name.

🎁 A piece of advice for the journey

If you can't afford a private consultation, you can still call, ask, find out. No one will scold you for seeking guidance. And if after reading this you feel it's not the right time yet, keep this guide. It doesn't expire.

🔹 Remember: You don't need a diagnosis to deserve help. The first step is not a full therapy session. Sometimes the first step is just asking.
